The Lincoln South Football Club is preparing to put it’s best foot forward in the final series beginning this weekend. The club has achieved success across all grades with every grade making the finals for 2017. Along with Marble Range, we are the only clubs to achieve that feat – a great reward for a great deal of effort across all grades.
Backing up from last year’s Grand Final appearance the Reserves have completed the minor round undefeated and will look to go one better this year. A few close calls were experienced later in the year and they will have to be at their best to reap the rewards of their hard work.
The under 13’s and under 15’s go through in second place and will both face off in the second semi final. They will be up against a couple of undefeated teams, but that will not deter them and they will no doubt do the club proud as they look to topple the more fancied opponents with the knowledge that finals are a very different game. Best of luck to both grades.
The under 17’s go through comfortably in 4th place and will face off in the first semi final. With a full side including many of their players with great league experience this year they will be undoubtedly play a big part in this years finals series.
Finally the League side progresses into the final in 4th position – having a superior percentage has ensured they go through to fight out the first semi final. Last year grand finalists know what it takes to get the wins in September and they will be looking to push the more highly fancied Marble Range to the limit in the first knock out final.
Not to be out done our Under 11’s lead the way last week with a successful Wayne Evans Shield. Winning one game and losing one game, they made it to the grand final were they didn’t win but showed true spirit and commitment, they club are very proud of you all. This followed the success of the Karkoo Cup where the Under 12’s side made also made it through to the grand final – going down by 3 points in the decider. The progress and success of the Under 11’s and Under 9’s has been great to see all year – Well done guys for a fantastic year.
Make sure you are at Centenary Oval over the next few weeks to see our Eagles, old and young push for September success! Good Luck to all grades!
